September 1st - a day I’ll never forget - not only is it my birthday but it’s a day that a 1200lb+ horse reared up, fell backwards and broke my body into pieces and changed my life forever..4 days later after being rushed to a trauma hospital, I was rushed to trauma surgery for Pelvic reconstruction with 8 fractures to pelvis (reserved for high speed car accidents and falls, apparently this is more commonly observed in men) and 3 to the spine with pending months of recovery ahead, Life as I knew it changed almost surreal in fact. I’m about 50% back to my physical self, workouts are just learning to walk after being on bed rest for close to 4 months but I’m back to semi-weighted workouts, balance, mobility, core strengthening at the very elementary stages. I’m determined to be content with what I have to work with. الحمد الله
“I couldn’t use the toilet or wash myself!” You don’t realize that your pelvis is connected to everything. So coming out of surgery, everything changed, my life changed forever سبحان الله very much helpless feeling. That’s when you get to see what really matters, who really matters., whose there for you and who cannot be there for you in reality. Life kind of hits you in a completely different way. With the help of الله doctors, family, and friends recovery is slow, mentally as well as physically painful. I do look at life so very differently now!
Continues from above ❤️ I’m not the same and probably never be the same, a new me#forreal not rebuilding to get back to the old me, SHES gone, I’m rebuilding to be better and become a new me. It’s a thing with my mindset that I embrace and I think from the days in the hospital when I realized I couldn’t do for myself and life as I knew it would never be the same, a new reality hit!! “The first goal was moving my legs an inch, then sitting up whereas once I sought to hip thrust 300lbs I prayed I’d ever hip thrust body weight. True story. The first thing was me saying to@isnumoclark to help me wash or cut my toes!! And I learned how to stretch and Keep my mind focused. I started showering and dressing myself 4 months later and everyday I decide on one more new accomplishment. God willing I’ll be in the gym again, sculpting a new me and praying for the newness and the strength of my faith and those who have always been there for me!!
